With the constant growth of the ministry I find myself with a new home here at Thrive. Since we had 2 new missionaries come on board this year it worked out best for them to move into my old house and for me to move up the mountain to my very own cabin. The cabin sits on the side of a mountain and has tons of windows, so needless to say I have some pretty amazing views from the living room. Not to mention the wrap around deck that I’ve been enjoying my breakfast on a few times already.
I guess the only real downside to living up here and being away from everyone else is, well, being away from everyone else. So far it’s pretty much been that once I drive up to my cabin after work I’m pretty much in for the night. One of the nice things before about being within walking distance of everyone else’s house was that I could just stop by and see what was going one. Now it’s not so easy. I’m a little distance away now, so I don’t usually do that as much unless I know that people are hanging out.
So far though things have been working out pretty good living in the new place. No shower yet and I also have to climb up a ladder to get to the loft where my bed is, but it’s definitely been nice to be able to “detach’ myself from work a bit more at the end of the day, now that I live more than a couple hundred yards from the office.
Big bonus that comes with the move… a covered carport for my truck!
