Ouch! That’s gonna hurt

Thursday, July 22nd, 2004

I guess I should have seen this coming, but man do you need to get a lot of shots to go to Africa. Let’s run through list real quick. Yellow Fever, Typhoid, Polio, Tetnus, Hepatitis A, B, and C. Oh yea, Hep B is a combination of 3 different shots, awesome. After they gave us the list I about fell over, but they did have some good news. Only the Polio shot is required. Wait a minute, you’re telling me I can either get seven shots in the arm or just one. To make the decision harder these shots aren’t cheap we’re talking an average of $65 a shot here. Who knows what I’m going to do at this point, but me being a guy I’m pretty sure the only one I need is Polio. Right?

Passport, check.

My passport arrived in the mail today, I can now leave the country. That’s right, this will be my first trip out of the United States.

$1,200 and counting

I would first like to thank everyone who’s sent in financial support for my upcoming Africa trip. It means so much to me to know my friends and family are supportive of this trip. So far I’ve collected over $1,200 for the trip, but the first financial deadline is fast approaching. On July 10th, just 9 days from now I need to have raised at least $1,800 so the church can purchase my plane ticket. As you can see I’m still a little short, but I’m faithful God will provide the funds necessary. If you would like to give financial support over the internet I’ve set up an account with PayPal that will allow you to use your credit card. PayPal is the leading secure payment network for online transactions. Your personal information is safe and secure and will not be shared with anyone.
